Smith Optics was born in 1965 by Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist and original ski bum. Dr. Bob Smith developed the first sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam goggles. By 1969, Dr. Bob Smith started producing the Smith Original ski goggle and has been at the forefront of snow goggle technology ever since.
