Smith Optics was born in 1965 by Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist and original ski bum. By 1969, Dr. Bob Smith started producing the Smith Original ski goggle. 1989 Smith is Incorporated as Smith Sport Optics, Inc. dba Smith Optics. In 2006 Smith started manufacturing snow helmets and has been at the forefront of snow goggle, snow helmet, and sunglass technology ever since.
