Musky hunting is the big draw in the fishing world this time of year.  September marks late summer pattern fishing, concentrating on rocks and deep-weed structure.  Also, maximize prime time on the water, by taking advantage of early morning and late evening periods of activity.  While no fishing rules are absolute, do put away smaller lures in favor of magnum-size Eagle-Tail® Bucktails, Bulldawgs®, Believers®, 10” Jakes, and Weagles®.  The list is endless—just go big, and keep chuckin’!

Get your Ski Boots Early!
It’s inevitable; ski season will be here sooner than you think!  If you’re planning on purchasing new clothing and/or equipment for the upcoming season, BOOTS should be your first priority! Yes, September is the time to shop for ski and snowboard boots in order to get the best fit and selection.  Manufacturer’s stock will dwindle fast as the fall progresses, so don't wait to get the right fit and type of boot.  Getting the right boot for you is just too important to settle for your second or even third choice later in the season.  A key to a great boot fit is a custom foot bed.  By purchasing your boots in September, you will have plenty of time to get custom foot beds made and have your boots custom fitted to your feet!

► September 6 - Antlerless Permit application deadline.  New this year:  Required for All-Season License for muzzleloading season.

► September 15 - Opening of Archery Deer Hunting and Small Game.

► September 29 - Waterfowl Season Opener.

► October 13 - Pheasant Opener.

► November 3 - Firearms Deer Hunting begins statewide in Minnesota.

► November 24 - Muzzleloader season starts.
