Get your Ski Boots Early!



"It's inevitable; ski season will be here sooner than you think!  If you're planning to purchase new clothing and/or equipment for the upcoming season, BOOTS should be your first priority!  Yes, September is the time to shop for ski and snowboard boots in order to get the best fit and selection.  Manufacturer's stock will dwindle fast as the fall progresses, so don't wait to get the right fit and type of boot.  Getting the right boot for you is just too important to settle for your second or even third choice later in the season.  A key to a great boot fit is a custom foot bed.  By purchasing your boots in September, you will have plenty of time to get foot beds made and have your boots custom fitted to your feet!"

Duck and Goose Calling Contests at Joe's
August Tent Sale

Duck and goose callers of all ages had the opportunity to compete in a full day of calling contests at Joe's Sporting Goods this August.  Cash and merchandise prizes were awarded for the top callers in each category:  Youth Duck Calling, Youth Goose Calling, Open Duck and Open Goose.   Buck Gardner of Buck Gardner Calls (1995 World Duck Calling "Champion of Champions") and Scott Threinen (2007 World Live Goose Calling Champion) were in attendance to judge the competitions and provide seminars on their calling specialties.

It was all part of Joe's Sporting Goods Fall Hunting and End-of-Summer Tent Sale, an annual event to which Twin Cities outdoor enthusiasts look forward to with great anticipation.

♦September 13 - Opening of Archery Deer Hunting and Small Game.
♦October 4 - Waterfowl Season Opener.
♦October 11 - Pheasant Opener.
♦November 8 - Firearms Deer Hunting begins statewide in Minnesota.
♦November 29 - Muzzleloader season starts.
